In the fifth round of Euroleague’s Group B Cedevita will play against Laboral Kutxa. The game will be held at Basketball Center Drazen Petrović at 20:00 CET on Friday. Laboral is currently first in the Group B with three wins and one loss, while Cedevita's score is 2-2.
Cedevita have also announced the arrival of new forward Henry Walker, an ex NBA player who previously played for Boston Celtics, New York Knicks and Miami Heat.
Veljko Mrsic (coach): “After two wins in Euroleague we are in a good position, but the bad news is Laboral Kutxa have won three Euroleague games in a row. They are a very good team and they play great basketball. Velimir Perasovic is a great coach and it won’t be easy for us. I hope that our arena will be full. I expect my players to give their best and we will see if that will be enough. It is important to stay consistent during the season, without too many ups and downs. Our new player Henry Walker will help us at both forward positions, but he will need some time to adjust.”
Marko Arapovic (power forward): “I would like to invite all our fans to come to the game and help us against Laboral Kutxa. We will surely give our best and we are hoping for a win. Laboral Kutxa are great team. After four losses in a row, we started to play with much more intensity. We have worked very hard in practice and that led to four wins in a row. I think Walker will help us a lot. He can play with ball, he shoots, rebounds and he can defend both shorter and taller players.”
Henry Walker (forward): “I played in an exhibition game in Italy, but this is my first taste of Eurolague. So far it has been exiting. I getting to know my teammates and I’m just trying to fit in. I played with Jacob Pullen at Kansas State and I watched James White when he played at Cincinatti. James played in many leagues and I will try to learn from his experience. Regarding my role in this team, I am able to guard bigger and smaller guys. I can shoot, pass and get rebounds. I will help the team in any way I can.”
